JETTA Laptop Computers.
EWA now markets the whole range of laptop computers made by Jetta Computers. We have bought many of their laptops during the last 10 years. Every one we have bought for EWA is still in active and productive use in our offices now, in spite of having been carried to other parts of the world numerous times and having been used by many different members of staff.
Since 1991 Jetta inc have been manufacturing and marketing top quality, latest technology and reasonably priced laptops. They are based in NJ not far from us and each computer is custom built to your specification for memory, chip, harddrive, CD/DVD type etc. And you have of course the choice of the newest AMD and Intel chips. Their standard guarantee is 1 year and you have the option of extending that to 3 years for just $149.

New Idea - Gift Wish List or Gift Registry

Why not build up a list of what you want others to buy you (-: and then give them access to that list to choose a gift for you?

To create your own Gift Registry, goto our shopping cart . Top right of that page, register a new account using your initials and zip code @ewa1.com (like ABC12345@ewa1.com) Enter your name and address on the new account page which comes up. Enter a password - we suggest using your phone number since it is easy to remember.
Then select all the items you want as gifts and put them all in your shopping cart. When you have made your selections, goto the link 'view cart' and choose 'Transfer to Wish List'. And that's it.

Then when someone asks what you would like as a gift, give them the link http://www.ewa1.com/cgi-bin/sshp/shop.cgi? and your account email address (abc12345@ewa1.com) and the password. Tell them to log in using those and then go to 'Wish List' and 'order' what they want for you.
Your name will be on the order which comes through but they will be able to choose where they want the items to be delivered and they will have to use their credit card or paypal account - for security, of course they do not have access to your card.

The account you create this way is quite separate from your regular account using your own email address, so it is easy to keep your 'Gift Registry' separate.

Due to new US Govt security mandated requirements for all imports after Aug 13, 2004, the costs of which are burdened on to importers and the serious fall in the value of the dollar, we have had to stop importing certain magazines. Those we have had to stop are Audi Driver, MG Enthusiast, Performance Ford, Truck Model World and VW Driver. Please advise us which magazine you would like to substitute, or if you would like a refund for the undelivered part of your sub.

Where's my Order? You can now track where your order is in our system. (This applies to models, books and videos, not to subs). Check out here . You will see lots of info like when your order was input, what is actually in stock and what is not. You can also see if there is a problem - perhaps with your credit card or an address problem so that you can resolve it for us quickly. After it has been shipped, the order will be seen in this file for 24 hours. After that, use our regular Fedex tracking link. The day we ship your order, we will still email you with full details and with the tracking number.
To use the system, we must have your email address on record. When we have that, phone, fax and mail orders are covered as well as website orders.

NEW! - Subscription Info Services.
You can now access details of your sub for all the magazines we distribute * and easily email from within the program to change your address or to renew.

* This system applies to all magazines except those from Haymarket (like Autosport, F1 Racing, Classic & Sports Car, 442, Gramophone etc - see details at Britmags.com All subs info for those mags was transferred from our computers to a worldwide database in the UK to which we input every day. (We still do all the mailings to you from NJ). Since the database is not under our control, we regret we cannot provide online information.

Email addresses. We try to keep you fully informed on your orders or subscriptions by sending you Emails. A percentage of these Emails bounce back to us because people change email addresses frequently and we may not know your new address.
Earthlink.net and mindspring.com users: we note that some emails we send to you bounce back to us because you have not 'preauthorized' us. This means that we cannot contact you to tell you the tracking number for your order or to report a problem with your credit card or address. If you want this sort of info - please would you allow us in?

MAGAZINE MAILING DATES
Remember that you can always check out the date we mailed magazines to subscribers at this address. . This includes ALL magazines we distribute (with their cover photos) for the benefit of those subscribers.

As part of our customer service, we have always been able to start new subs and renew subs at the time you call or place your order. For example if you subscribed on Thursday and we were about to mail the mag on Friday, your copy would be among those mailed. We are no longer able to do this for Haymarket magazines since they have centralized their database in the UK and it is accessible from but no longer actually on our computers. In future the lists for issues will close up to 6 weeks before the magazine is mailed to you from here in NJ. So, please always renew AT LEAST six weeks ahead of your expiration to ensure that you do not miss any issues! (Every envelope tells you when your sub will expire).

As part of our customer service, we Email to new and renewal subscribers on the day their credit card is charged, advising how much was charged, when the sub will expire and confirming with them their address details.
For Haymarket magazines we will email this data to you about 14 days after the charge or service. (see britmags.com for list of mags) .

EWA accepts all the leading credit cards, like Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex, Diners and JCB.
For Haymarket magazines, they accept all forms of payment except Discover and Paypal. The charge to your card will be from 'Haymarket' in the UK and listing our phone number here in the USA for queries.

Apr 2003 About our shopping cart system:
NEW features include: many direct search buttons for ModelMaker and CarMake.
Easier searching for keywords in categories - like Porsche in Books, or BMW in 1/43rd scale etc.
Search on multiple keywords at once. Try 'ferrari F1 schumacher mattel' and only those items which contain all those words in any order will come up.
Wish List. If you want to retain a note of something you like but don't want to buy yet, put it into your wishlist!
Featured Items. We highlight on every shopping page brand new stock or sale items, worthy of your attention.
You can search without signing in, but once you do, the billing and shipping names and addresses will be kept on record. But they are accessible only after you enter the correct emailaddress and your personal password - no one else can view them. Credit card you enter information is encrypted and is not stored online.
If you forget your password, just click 'Lost Password', enter your email address on the screen which comes up and your password will be emailed to that address.
The system is set up to accept any credit card or Paypal. If you want to use Paypal, it will speed up processing if you write 'using paypal' in the 'Comments' section on your order so we will know to await a communication from Paypal. OR if you want to use a check or money order, just say that in the comments section. We will then await arrival of the check or money order before doing anything. Mail will take a few days to reach us whereas credit cards are instant.
Our website is Thawte certified for secure transference of data. If however you want to fax your order to us, then just fax it to +1 732 424 7814.

Just a reminder - you can check here the date we mailed your subscription magazine to you. If it has still not been delivered by the Post Office 30 days later, please let us know so we can send you a replacement copy.

Oct 2. A change to our Terms: we regret we can no longer accept your requests for FedEx to 'leave parcels without signature'. FedEx don't accept responsibility in those circumstances if the parcel disappears, because they followed the instruction, so if you know you will not be in to receive deliveries, please request delivery to your office or other trusted place where you are known. You can also request FedEx at your end to leave parcels without signature, but we are not able to do that for you.

We started some months ago sending Renewal Notices for magazine subscriptions by Email instead of including them on paper inside the magazine. But we can only send them to you when we have your uptodate Email address. PLEASE SAVE TREES and avoid paper cuts! Please let us have your new Email address!

A NEW personal service for all our customers with an email address. When you place an order by email, or using our shopping cart systems, you presently receive an email acknowledgement of your order. You now also receive by email on the day we ship, a fully itemized invoice, showing what we shipped and what we charged. We also list the tracking number (for FedEx shipments) and show anything we were not able to ship and explain why. Just another EWA service. We hope it will help you. Even if you order by mail, phone or fax, but we have your email address on record, you will still receive this notification. So please let us know if you change your email address!
